The Community Council For Character Salutes:

Student of Trustworthy
Seth Phillips
Pulaski Elementary School

I would like to nominate Seth Phillips.  Seth and his sister 4 year old sister recently went on an outing with their parents to the creek.  He and his sister went into the water to play.  As they were walking out of the creek the current started to pull them.  Seth grabbed onto a rock, but it broke.   As the current was pushing them out into deeper water, he grabbed his sister around the waist and tried to swim back to the bank.  The current and depth of the water would not let him, but he managed to hang on to his sister until his father was able to rescue them.  Seth did not think of just saving himself; he was determined to save his sister too.  His sister trusted Seth with her life.   If you can trust someone with your life, then you can trust him/her with anything.

Adult of Trustworthy
Scott Muse
Oak Hill Elementary School

When I think about the word “Trustworthy”, Scott Muse comes to mind.  Scott is a fourth grade teacher here at Oak Hill Elementary School.  I have taught with him for many years and I know that he can be trusted with any information shared with him by both students and staff alike.  When making decisions that involves anything to do with our school, we can depend on Scott to come up with a fair evaluation for all concerned.  If projects are implemented, you can be sure that he will go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the completion date is met.  Any time I need specific help, I will send out an email or make a call to his room because I know that I can rely on him to help if he can.  I know at times he has let other things go, or dropped what he is doing, in order to help me meet deadlines.  It is extremely considerate of him to do so.  Scott is dependable on both a personal and professional level and serves as a role model daily.  I consider it a privilege to work with a loyal and trustworthy colleague and that is what we have in Scott.
